EV Run AS issue

In the near future we will have a security policy in place that will restrict us from logging on to our EV servers with the EV service account. Currently when i log on with my own account and try RUN AS 9with service ascct credentials) I get error "The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it ha sno enabled devices associated with it"

 

Surely you can open the VAC using RUN AS ?

    Make sure you Ev services are running. Have tried at my end and I am able to open VAC using Run As.

    yes EV services are running, first thing i checked. Any more ideas?

    Do you get a prompt to enter the name of the EV server? did you enter the server name properly?

    no prompt at all

     

    i select the VAC form program menu, right click, RUN AS, enter the credentials and then get the error. Nothing logged in event log either

    Have you checked that the account you are trying to use has the appropriate rights within 'Authorisation Manager'? Right click the directory object in the VAC to access it.

    Hi

    You don't need to do a "run as", the better way would probably be to give your personal admin-user account rights to the console using the Authorization Manager.

    It is for EV 8 but will still apply.

    yes Michel but my account would need certain rights only used by the vault service account. My own acount is already "power admin". Power admin does not give us the right to update service locations during DR test or ADD / REMOVE users to the authorisation manager console

    Ok tony so you are saying that i can create a custom role with same permissions as Vault service acocunt ?
