EV10 and Outlook 2016

Hi folks, I was wondering if anyone could help with the following. The compatibility guide says EV10 and Outlook 2016 don't work together and that the minimum supported Ev version is EV11.01CFH4

Also from: https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.TECH130537

"Outlook 2016 support requires Enterprise Vault 11.0.1 CHF4 or later (client and server)"

What I'm curious about are the technical reasons are behind why this version of Outlook doesn't play well with EV10

I'm being assked more and more about this combination and when I cite the above documentation I am facing further questions about why they don't work together

Can anyone help me understand this, please?

    my two cents: 

    EV10 came out in 2011 and Outlook 2016 just came out. the fact that the systems were released 5 years apart is enough reason for me.
