Evault and Horizon View Persona

Morning,

We use Evault in our environment and also use horizon view 6.0 with persona - when a user first logs into their vdi session and opens outlook there is a download that takes place from the appdata/local/kvs/enterprise vault folder and it downloads the .mdc file to the local profile - I am wondering how people are dealing with this?

thanks

Patrick

  • Well they won't have virtual vault if you disable it.

Provide you don't have PSTDisableGrow set, they'll be able to retrieve items from shortcuts.

Or you can follow the guidance in the comptability guide:

    Citrix

    Enterprise Vault core dependencies 23

    Citrix

Symantec provides client support for Citrix-based thin client provisioning. This support is limited to the installation and use of the Enterprise Vault client for Outlook. Support for Vault Cache and Virtual Vault is included if the following criteria are satisfied:

    •   VaultCacheandVirtualVaultmustbeconfiguredinheader-onlymode(no content caching)

    •   ThenetworkconnectingtheCitrixserverandfileserverhostingtheVault Cache and Virtual Vault files must offer high speed and low latency

    •   Outlook2010orlaterisrequired

    •   ServersmustbeWindows2008R2orlater

    •   EnterpriseVaultOutlookAdd-In9.0.5orlaterservicepack,or10.0.4orlater service pack, or 11.0 is required

Symantec does not currently support any aspect of its Enterprise Vault server infrastructure provisioned via Citrix.

  • You could set OVEnabled = 0 and VVEnabled = 0 in the appropriate place in the registry to stop them being downloaded/created.

  • Thanks for the quick response

Is this going to affect the user and their evault experience?
