Exchange 2003 and 2010 coexistence environment archiving

Hi Everyone,

 

Quick question about coexistence scenario:

 

When we are planning to archive both 2003 and 2010 exchange servers configured for coexistence – does the vault service account mailbox should be on exchange 2003 or exchange 2010?

    For archiving from Exchange 2003 it is not necessary to have a mailbox for the vault service account... If you do have one and / or you are in the coexistence world you describe, then it should be on Exchange 2010. Don't forget to run the permissions PowerShell script as well as the throttling policy PowerShell script.
