GetOnlineAttachmentFileSize 0x80070014

Enterprise Vault 2007 Version 7.5

Outlook 2010

All of my users receive the error message "GetOnlineAttachmentFileSize 0x80070014" when they attempt to retrieve thier archived emails. Please help. I know next to nothing about this program so be very detailed in your suggestions.

Thank you,

Scott

  • 0x80060014 is The System Cannot Find The Device Specified

Do you see anything in the Enterprise Vault logs in the Event Viewer on the EV server?
What kind of storage do you use for the vault store partitions? NetApp? Centera? NAS? SAN? etc

If its a CIFS or NTFS type of storage, is the storage available?
Are you seeing this for everyone?
When did this error start occuring?

  • I don't know where the Enterprise Vault logs are.

The Event Viewer shows this message several times each minutes.

The Retrieval Task 'Exchange Mailbox Archiving Task for ULCMAIL(Retrieval)' could not be started due to startup errors.

I believe it is stored on a SAN. How can I check?

All users appear to get this message.

I noticed it today. Our SQL server ran out of space due to log files. After I cleaned it up, I attempted to use Enterprise Vault. The program has been unreliable since I started working for the company about 4 months ago.

  • Can you open the administration console at all?
if you go to the Vault Stores and then the properties of the partitions, it will show you the location of where on disk they will be stored, gut instinct says that the drive has become disconnect or isn't present on the server

it could also be a sql issue where the database is in a suspect state or offline etc

  • I found my storage drives. They were offline. After putting them online everything seems to work fine.

    Thank you!
