Lotus Notes 703HF693

Hi there,

in the Symantec documentation, I sumbled upon the hotfix for Lotus Notes required to install the EVInstall.nsf for EV8 SP2. For Lotus Notes Version 7.0.3 there is a Hotfix 703HF693 needed.

Well, Symantec cannot give me the hotfix and IBM doesn't know, what this is - they use a different naming convention for hotfixes. Has anybody any idea how to overcome this?

    Take a look at the compatibility guide :

    It says :

    Mandatory Lotus Domino hotfixes
              You must obtain Lotus Notes client and Lotus Domino Server hotfixes from IBM.
              The Lotus Notes client hotfixes should be installed on every Enterprise Vault
              Server configured for Lotus Domino Archiving and every Enterprise Vault
              Domino Gateway server.
              The Lotus Domino server hotfixes should be installed on every Enterprise Vault
              Domino Gateway server.
              The Lotus Notes client hotfixes should be installed on the client from which you
              run EVInstall.nsf, if you do not run it on the Enterprise Vault Domino
              Gateway Server.
              You do not need to apply the hotfixes to your target Domino mail servers or end
              user Lotus Notes clients.
              Please quote the following PMR and hotfix numbers when contacting IBM
              support:
              7.0.2 client: PMR 49545,019,866; hotfix 702HF1183

    Dear Rob Wilcox,

    I look this pre-requisites in the manual, but I don´t find this hotfix for download in the site IBM.

    My Lotus Notes Client is doesn´t displayed the icons when the message is archived, this problem occurs why doesn´t is installed hotfix for Lotus Notes?

    Leandro,  as I understand it you have to contact IBM for the hotfix.  Also the installation guides for our Lotus Notes components clearly give the steps for installation, and they rely on the hotfix being in place (otherwise EVInstall will error)

    Rob, I don´t installed hotfix in Lotus Notes client, but I run EVinstall without error.

    The messages are archived, however the icons doesn´t displayed in client.

    WHY???

     Sorry, but I don't know why that would happen, but it could be related to the EVInstall, or a step missed from the installation instructions.

    It sounds as though your templates were not updated correctly.  Could you double check those steps?

    Tony, my templates were updated correctly. See the following image:

    However the icons doesn´t appearing and the message doesn´t retrieve.

    It is mandatory the installation of Enterprise Vault Domino Gateway for Domino Mailbox Archiving???

    Yes, the EVDG is a pre-req for Mailbox archiving.  This is listed in the Install and Config quide.

    Did you not install a EVDG?
