Netbackup Storage Migrator General Question

Does anyone know of a procedure to migrate NBU data archived with storage migrator to Enterprise Vault? Does this procedure exist? I see a procedure for migrating DLM data when the product was EOL'd in favor of the newly acquired Enterprise Vault but not Storage Migrator which was EOL'd at the same time for the same reason... Any help or guidance is appreciated.. Thanks in advance...

    Jeff, there is no automated

Jeff, there is no automated way of doing this. However, it could be done manually:

    - recall the VSM content back to the Unix server

    - archive in to EV using Archive Accelerator for NFS (http://www.vault-solutions.com/ourproducts/archive-accelerator-for-nfs.html)

    - OR, copy the recalled data to a Windows file server and archive using EV FSA

Of course you do not need to recall all in one go. You can cycle the recall/re-archive processes so that you do not need so much disk for the temporary recall.

I think that is the probably best place to get your answer.

  • Thanks Tony.. I figured I would cross post to this group. There is always a chance someone has come across this with EV.

  • Cross posting is fine, but it would be a good practice to include links to the other post so folks can find the other thread and see discussion there.
