Not enough storage is available

Hi All,

I'm trying to enable a user mailbox on our EV server and getting the error below

ev error.JPG

Can anyone advise a solution for this?

  • You will want to refer to the TN I posted earlier:

    Recommended Solution:

Install the following Hotfix provided by Microsoft, which will increase the number of MAPI connections available to 100:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2512788

Note: The Deployment Scanner in Enterprise Vault 9.0.2 and 10.0 and higher now includes the necessary checks for the Microsoft hotfix.

    Alternative Solutions:

The following alternative solutions are available if the recommended solution cannot be implemented:

    • Reduce the total number of threads used by all the tasks on a given Enterprise Vault Server
Each thread of a Mailbox Archiving task can hold two MAPI sessions (one for archiving and the other for synchronization) and hence setting the task to 5 threads/connections, actually means 10 profiles/sessions in the Outlook cache. Try to reduce the number of archiving threads to approximately 25 to allow for other threads, such as those from the Shopping Service and PST Migration

    • Use the ProfileExpire registry setting to have EV clear down any unused MAPI profiles.

    • Use Outlook 2003 on the Enterprise Vault server
Note:  If Exchange 2007 is the only email system configured within the environment, there may be additional setup requirements
Note:  If Exchange 2010 is configured as an archiving target from this Enterprise Vault server Outlook 2007 is required

  • Have a read of this TN:

Connections to Exchange may fail when Outlook 2007 is installed on a busy Enterprise Vault server.

    Article:TECH129173  |  Created: 2010-01-26  |  Updated: 2014-06-03  |  Article URL http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH129173

    It lists this:

    Source Event ID
    Value 3411
    Description

An non-specific error has occurred whilst enabling archiving for the mailbox /o=Org/ou=ExgOu/cn=Recipients/cn=exg.user |Error: Not enough storage is available to complete this operation

An error has been reported by
    Exchange Server: EXG001
    Mailbox: SMTP:ev_mailbox@example.com
    Error: 0x8007000e - OUT_OF_MEMORY

  • Increase the size of the mailbox.  You probably don't have enough space to write the hidden message.

  • Hi ashks2014,

Check if you have an Exchange quota applied to the mailbox and that the quota hasn't been reached. If so, increase the mailbox quota and try again.

You can also collect a dtrace for AgentClientBroker and review the log if there isn't an Exchange quota applied to the mailbox.

    I hope this helps.

  • I don't think it will be the mailbox quota as the error message that I have seen for that condition is slightly different.

Check the EV Event log and see if it is Event ID 3138 or 3411 or something else.

  • Hi,

Thanks for the replies..Can try the trace but there is no quota applied to the mailbox. Have tried a few mailboxes on the same Exchange server and get the same error so it's not just one particular mailbox.

I will try enabling a mailbox on a different Exchange server (but same EV server) and see if the same error occurs.

  • Ok guys, i have Event ID's 3139 and 3475. The 3475 error says we've reached the maximum number of connections on this EV server.
