Outlook 2013 Add-in not loading

I upgraded to version 10.0.0.4 for EV and have installed the new outlook add-in for outlook 2013. Everytime it tries to load in outlook it gets a runtime error. I am on Exchange 2010.

Any thoughts on how I can get this to work?

Thanks

  • Which version of EV server do you use, and service pack?

Which client operating system do you use?

Which other Outlook Add-ins do you have installed?

Can you post the details of the 'runtime error' ?

  • I run Enterprise Vault version 10.0.4.1189

Client OS is Windows 8, Server OS is Windows 2008 R2

Outlook add-ins are - OneNote, Sharepoint, Exchange, Outlook Social connector, Outlook Change Notifier, MS Access, and Lync Meeting. All the rest are disabled.

I don't have any details except what is in the picture. Can I get more details from a log file?

  • Aaron... "Can I get more details from a log file"... well, yes, maybe, and no, maybe.

You say you get a runtime error.  Please explain.

A crash of the Add-in will generate an event in the application event log on the client machine.

  • Hi Aaron,

Can you upload a screenshot of the error you get.. ??

  • Sometimes, 3rd party add-ins may interrupt the EV add-in. You might want to try disabling any other add-ins loaded to test if there are any conflicts.

  • I posted a screen shot in my original post that shows the runtime error.

When I try to enable the plug-in the only error I get is outlook crashing.

  • Sorry the screenshot on the original post is of the add-ins loaded inside Outlook, not of a crash ...

Anyway ..  I would suggest disabling *every* Add-in, and restart Outlook a few times.

Then enable the EV Outlook Add-in, and restart Outlook a few times.

    Rinse and repeat.

By the way does this happen on *every* machine, or just one, or some?

  • The screenshot has the plugin selected stating the runtime error which is why I added it.

So far I am the only one but I am testing outlook 2013. I will install it on some other computers and see if the same thing happens. I have disabled all the add-ins but nothing so far.

    Will keep you posted.
