possible to assign certain Index Locations to certain Vault Stores?

Hello,

let's have the following configuration:

- 1 EV server, 2 Vault Stores

- VS01 is , for example, for SMTP archiving

- VS02 is for mailbox archiving

Is it possible to specify somehow that all archives in VS02 will automatically use only index locations index5 - index8, while archives in VS01 will be assigned to index1 - index4 locations?

The reason comes from different requirements/scheduling for backups of both vault stores and their corresponding index locations.

I see that I can always later move index volumes manually, I am curious about automatic assignment.

    Hello Michal,

    Indexing is server specific, not archive specific.

    You can move indexes around, but any new index (because the first index is full. or for a newly created archive), will be autodistributed again accross the 8 locations.

    It might be best to backup the full indexlocation during, or shortly after, vault store backup.

    Nope. You can't control the distribution of index volumes within a given index location.
