Problem Searching?

Hi all, can anyone tell me why I might not be able to do any kind of vault search using the IE web search (http://KVSserver/EnterpriseVault/search.asp)

Once IE connects I get this message "You can not search as you are not subscribed to any vaults."

I'm thinking this is a rights issue because i can do this search if i log on as someone else, but it seems i have the same rights or rather high enough rights to so I should be able to do this...
  • that message means you do not have access to any archives. Can you look on the properties of an archive and make sure you have at least read access?

  • No i still cant view/search a vault through IE...but it seems like I have the rights to do so...or rather I have the same rights as others who can do that search...
  • Are you logging in the computer as yourself? Are you enabled for archiving? If so, can you manually archive?
  • Ok this thread is kind of just spinning it's wheels.

What can or can't you do with the archives?

We know you can't search using the search.asp page. How do you know you can access the archive just fine? Can you use archiveexplorerui.asp? Have you been able to open shortcuts? How have you assigned yourself permissions to the archives? Are you sure your permissions are not denied?
  • OK I appologize I've got it now...I guess its one of those "Dont assume " mistakes...When my account was created (very recently) i was told I have access to everything, or rather as much as my co-worker has...I've just added my self rights to the archives...everything works now...

    Thanks again....
