PST migration questions

Ok. I've a project under my wings with PSTs and had a few questions. We have many PST out there have been created after we've been on Enterprise vault and need to get them back into EV. Our Systems group hadn't been turning off outlook autoarchive when setting up profiles so there's a bunch of pst with shortcut and mixed items in them. We currently do not have Enterprise Vault archive contacts or calendar items but outlook autoarchive does. Would any of the pst migration options merge/import the entire pst back into users mailbox or do they strictly just move the messages classes we have desigated to archive?

-Thanks

  • Hi Normally I think EV will migrate all "eligible" Items (your defined message classes) directly to the Archive, and all other Items to the Exchange Mailbox, (or left in the PST, not 100% sure here), but it won't archive them. Cheers Michel
  • That's what I'm looking for. It will import the entire pst but only archive the ellible items that have been identified with message class.

  • Hi,

Depending upon the pst migration settings, the items not migrated to the archive are moved back into the mailbox.
