Re-Archiving Error

Hello guys,

i need help ASAP with EV10 and Exchange 2003.

the enterprise vault configuration is as follow

mailbox policy - archive zero days with no delete the original item and no creation of shurtcut

the purpose of the ev is just for indexing and complaience regulations.

after the first archive process we deleted the Enterprise Vault and installed it again, since the new installation we are unable to archive the items again and when using dtrace we get strange error >> "The message titled:  will not be archived as it has not been modified since it was archived.

does any one have any idea how to solve the problem??

we try to use IgnoreEVdate reg key with no success.

installation on new server did not help?

backup the exchange did not help?

please help help help

  • the issue is that those items have already been watermarked by EV.

this is a rather complex situation that i've had to deal with myself in the past. you need to contact symantec support and your symantec account manager to get them engaged. you will need a special script from backline engineering to run and go through all the exchange mailboxes that you've already archived to remove the watermark in order for the items to be eligible for archiving by your new EV.

  • In addition, I would suggest that since you have no interest in using the mailbox management aspect of EV you might be better off using Journal Archiving.  It would be more efficient in the long run to accomplish your stated goal of "indexing and compliance".

  • guys thx for the answer

i will update you as soon as i have an answer
