Yes, I have upgraded EV 14.3 with RMS decryption active to 14.4 using MPIP. Here are the steps I followed:
- Disabled RMS decryption in EV 14.3.
- Upgraded to EV 14.4.
- Configured MPIP.
- Restarted journaling.
If you do not disable RMS decryption before upgrading to 14.4 and do not configure MPIP after the upgrade, journaling will not function until MPIP is configured. In this case, EV will not archive any new files until MPIP is configured. However, existing files that were archived before the upgrade will still be accessible.
To configure MPIP, you will need to create a new MPIP policy and assign it to the site. You can find instructions on how to do this in the EV 14.4 documentation.
Once MPIP is configured, you can restart journaling. This will start archiving new files.
I did not experience any problems upgrading EV 14.3 with RMS decryption active to 14.4 using MPIP. The process was smooth and everything worked as expected.
Here are some additional things to keep in mind when upgrading EV with RMS decryption active:
- You must disable RMS decryption before upgrading to 14.4 if you do not plan to use MPIP.
- If you do not disable RMS decryption before upgrading, you will need to configure MPIP after the upgrade in order to resume journaling.
- If you do not configure MPIP after the upgrade, existing files that were archived before the upgrade will still be accessible, but new files will not be archived until MPIP is configured.
