Search Vaults/Restore

EV 9.0.1

In my desktop policy I  do not have 'Restore from Vault' enabled. However, if you use Search Vaults there is an icon out to the right which allows you to restore the item to a Restored Items folder.

After the restore, the message still exists in the vault and the Restored Items folder. Is this expected behavior?

Is there a policy that controls this?

  • That is expected behavior, the only way to do a restore that also deletes an item is in Archive Explorer, if you right click an email and go to "Move Item To Mailbox" then it will physically restore the email to the mailbox, delete the shortcut if one existed and then delete the item out of the archive.

    However a restore from the mailbox (clicking a shortcut and hitting restore from vault) or restore from Browser Search, Integrated Search, Archive Explorer, Virtual vault etc they will just move the item back to the mailbox but will not delete what is in the archive.

    That is intended behavior and cannot be modified.
