Searching categories (_not_ retention categories) but email marked with Outlook categories
I have realised, that using a folder hierarchy on email is not perfect going forward, and have realised that "tagging" is the way forward.
When you tag email with Outlook, you can setup searches which give you virtual folders until you decide to push the emails off into the EV archive.
What I've found is that I don't seem to be able to search the EV vaults for a category tag.
And searches always seem to remove @ or #'s. So if I search for @someday, it picks up an email with the word someday in it, but not my archived email with @someday in the header.
Does anyone have any insight into this?

- What version of EV are you?
you can search for categories as explained in this technote:

How to find a message in search.asp using the Outlook category
Details:
The way to search for an email with a specific Outlook category is to use the Advanced Search.
The URL for the advanced search options page will be:
http://your_server/EnterpriseVault/search.asp?advanced
In the "Other Attribute" = "Name" type in "keys" and the "Value" must match the Outlook category needed to search through.
Note: This is case sensitive, and the message must be added to the Outlook category before the message is archived.
