Shopping subfolder is gone?

So I'm seeing these errors in the EventVwr

Ask the Enterprise Vault Administrator to check the Shopping Service configuration - Failed to create the Shopping subdirectory: C:\Program Files\Enterprise Vault\Shopping\company\usersname

Ask the Enterprise Vault Administrator to check the Shopping Service configuration - Failed to create the Shopping subdirectory: C:\Program Files\Enterprise Vault\Shopping

Failed to get the basket descriptions:

Shopper: domain\usersname

(I've removed the domain and username)

Problem is that Enterprise Vault is installed in c:\Program Files (x86) and even more stranger, is that inside EnterpriseVault in that folder, there is no Shopping subfolder.

Can I literally just create it or is there a process for creating it and then pointing the service to it? The service exists in services snapin and the vault snapin.

  • On newer installations the shopping folder seems to be created as x:\EVCache\Shopping.  But yes, you can simply create a shopping folder where you'd like and modify the properties of the shopping service in the EV console to use that folder.

  • Hi tfoster,

By default the EV shopping folder must have write access for authenticated users. If the folder was configured under the EV installation directory, it would have the same permissions as the EV folder; thus, this error would be expected since the users have no access. You just need to stop the Shopping service, go to the properties of service and change the location of the Data files, and restart the service.

    I hope this helps.

  • Hi, thanks for the answers guys. This can be closed. I created a new shopping folder in the correct location the vault is installed on and changed the location in the VAC to reflect it.

I dont see these errors any longer.

    thanks!
