Does any existing/upcoming versions of Enterprise Vault have the capability to archive Microsoft Lync IM Messages? I know it is not possible with versions until EV8 SP3. Not sure, if it is possible with any newer versions or upcoming version of Enterprise Vault.

The primary thing is to get those messages to a journal mailbox, once there EV can archive them.
You can use Actiance Vantage or possibly Globanets Merge1 tool to do so.

@Tony: Thanks again tony, i had a read of this before.. and i tell this to the customers, but that is not what the customers want to hear (if you know what i mean $$$$). We as instructor are "Symantec" to them, they love the product and want to continue doing so and dont want to invest in a Symantec Partners program eg. Vantage and out of curiosity want to know, if there are any plans to having this capability in the upcoming versions maybe...

yes, I also looking for this as well, so I guess we all have to wait until perhaps EV 11
In case someone is looking for a third-party tool to ingest Lync messages into EV, I will note that 17a-4 Data Parser (http://www.17a-4.com/dataparser/) is a potential option. We are a long time customer of the tool and it just does the job. If you need contact info of a sales rep, please drop me a note.
