Upgrade Index to 64 BIt

Hi,

Is it recommended to upgrade  Index from 32 Bit to 64 Bit before I upgrade Enterprise Vault 11 ?

  • I havent read that it is a specific recommendation and at this point it could delay your upgrade considerably depending on how many 32 bit indexes you still have.

The Index Upgrade Wizard is present in EV 11 so I am inclined to go ahead and upgrade EV to EV 11 and be sure to account for upgrading the indexes afterwards.

  • Ronen,

If you have not too many indexes, or large ones (think journals) I would upgrade the indexes in EV10 first. Just to take that task away after upgrading to EV11. It all depends on what you want to do first I think.

I have done thousands of indexes in this environment I am in at the moment. The largest one, a journal archive index having 25.000.000 took 12 days to complete. You can select on name, vaultstore or number of items in indexes. I started with small ones (less than 1000, less than 10000 etc.), and upgraded most user indexes in a day. Some user archives had 300/500.000 items, those take a little longer.

All in all it ran smooth.
