WDS 4.0

We are running 7.5 sp4

I am starting to test Windows Desktop Search 4.0 and on the couple machines i've installed it on it's not working for offline vault searching. My policy is configured as such:

And i see the option for searching the vault in WDS...

But as you can see nothing is found. I found a couple threads discussing this but it was with an older version and the information was mixed. I also found THIS DOC but it too refers to an older version and the workaroud steps don't match up.

Is anyone else using WDS or have any ideas on getting this going?

    Yes, My server is 7.5 sp4 and my client is 7.5.4.2534 which is a sp4 client.

    we don't normally use wds in our enviroment but i've started to deploy it to a few power users to make EV searching easier and as far as i can tell it's not working on any of them.

    Have you by any chance installed the Client with the Self-Installing User Extensions? (Not the MSI package)?

    is it necassary to post to a dead topic and put it back to the top?  It sorta junks up the board.

    I'd like a "Close Topic" button....

    However, there is no way for me to differ the topics right now.
    And I don't remember which I visited, and which I didnt... :)

    I will see that I get something up in the Ideas section.
