Folder Sync with O365

Hi All,

I have a small question about Folder Sync.

Background: Many users in many companies worldwide, our company included, just love using Outlook as a filing cabinet.

This can cause all sorts of issues in case a mailbox grows to 50GB+ in size.

I was happy when I found Folder Sync since it would allow us to direct users to it and ask them to delete their emails after a certain period of time.
However, it does seem that Folder Sync requires on-site Exchange servers. I really hope that I misunderstood as we don't have Exchange servers and are not planning on investing in one. Our mail service os O365.

We already use Enterprise Vault.cloud but it doesn't catch emails being dragged from one mailbox to another. E.g.: Some users have access to 3-4 mailboxes, they move emails they receive into these mailboxes so Vault.cloud has no knowledge of these emails since it only captures sent/received emails.

This is the probem the folder sync would fix. Just not 100% sure it will work.

Could someone send some information my way?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Andras

  • looking at the Enterprise Vault.cloud Compatibility List, Folder Sync is not compatible with O365

  • Office 365. Compatible? No.

That seems pretty straightforward. How unfortunate. I guess I'll have to investigate other options.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction, I appreciate the help.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi Andras,

Sorry to hear you are having some issues with your Ev.Cloud product.

If you are looking for an enhanced archiving product that works in conjunction with Office 365 you should consider EV247. This is a Bluesource solution, which envolves hosting Enterprise Vault in Azure. This is a fully managed service and so also takes away the stress of archiving like the EV.cloud solution does, but it gives you the full functionality that you might be used to with the Enterprise Vault product.

Do take a look at some of the materials on our website or get in touch via a Direct Message if you are interested in discovering more.

    All the best,

    Ed
