Also, you've posted this in the Inside Symantec forums by mistake wink

  • Symantec DLO is a file folder protection solution and not for system recovery. Its a centralised policy based solution that helps protecting the user data in desktop and laptop.

Symantec DLO provides continuous disk-based protection of critical user data by automatically copying data from a desktop or laptop over to a network share and also maintains a local copy of the backup. This is one of the key best practice guideline for endpoint backup. Local versioning of backup copies is crucial to ensure continued productivity even if the endpoint is disconnected from the corporate network.

  • Hello,

Incase if you are carrying BE 2012, it does not include DLO.

If you are using DLO, then you should be aware that DLO is now a separate product and you should upgrade to the new DLO7 before you upgrade to BE 2012 or remove the DLO option before upgrading to BE 2012.  If you are running BE SBS edition with BE 2010 or BE 2010 R2, then you would need to upgrade to BE 2010 R3 SP2 with the latest updates, so that you can remove the DLO option before upgrading to BE 2012.

  • Currently I have installed Symantec DLO 7.0, will this restore to a bare metal hard drive? I was told by the Symantec Rep that it would.   If it can, can you forward me link to a documented procedure of this?
