Client Installation failed SuSE2.6.16

HI 

maby some can help

we have two appliance server Netbackup 5220 and the master server is a windows2008 R2 version 7.6.0.4

We have tried to install a Netbackup Client 7.6.0.1 on a virtual machine with Suse2.6.16. Unfortunately we get following output:

xxxxxxxxx:~/Download/SuSE2.6.16 # sh ./install_client

 

ERROR:   /usr/openv/netbackup/version not found or corrupted.

         Unknown hardware type: ""

 

Maybe someone have an idea what the cause is?

    You should be running ./install for the root of the NetBackup_7.6.0.1_CLIENTS2 folder. Don't drill down into the folders and try to run it from the SuSE2.6.16 folder.

    Please tell us what Download file exactly you are using to install NBU client?

    As per Riaan's post - you need to start the installation from the top of the extracted NBU Clients 2 (NetBackup_7.6.0.1_CLIENTS2.tar.gz ) download.

    Please also share contents of /etc/SuSE-release on the client.
