DPS_PROXYDEFAULTSENDTMO and DPS_PROXYDEFAULTSENDTMO for MSDP

All - I have had recurring issues with MSDP pools going down during periods of high usage.  Per a number of Technote recommendations as well as forum discussions, I raised these parameters on my appliances (5220 running 2.6.1.2) from 1800 to 3600.

This has cut down the number of "Disk Volume: PureDiskVolume Down" alerts, but has not eliminated them.

My question - does anyone know for sure if 3600 is the maximum value.  It *appears* from discussions that it may be the max, but I was hoping someone at Symantec could verify.

If it is not the max, perhaps I could bump it up to 4500 and see if it eliminates my PureDisk Volume Down states for good...

  • I believe 3600 is the max but I found an old note with an additional trick.

Not sure how the CR_STATS_TIMER timer works but might be worth a shot.

  • Ah, good catch.  I missed that last note.  I'm going to apply this to the problematic appliance and see what we see.  Thanks for the follow-up.  Will update this thread...

  • I received another MSDP down after doing this... but it has been quieter.  I'm going to give it a couple more weeks and then decide. :)
