How to run install_client_files for ssh method with a different user other than root

How to run install_client_files for ssh method with a different user other than root for client

like when we run /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/install_client_files ssh <clientname>

its asking for root password of the client, so is there any way we can run with different user other than root

  • The installation process is designed to be run as root. As with most software installation, you use root.

  • I thought you just used ssh user@clientname to use an alternate user.

  • Shaf, if the Unix based clients have implemented sudoers then you should be able to initiate an install from a different username, but in the end... the actual installation is still run as root.

  • I appreciate all your answers, but still look for more techs to comment.
