Netbackup Appliance 5230

Hi all,

For a start, our customer have a Netbackup appliance 5230 model (D). Now the question is, can Netbackup appliance contain more than one IP address?

Situation is, three 1G LAN port been teamed as one IP (for example 10.10.100.165). We need to use the 10G port with the same IP range for example 10.10.100.xx.

Can it be done?

Thank you

  • Hello

No not really - NBU appliance is based on linux and having two different IPs from the same subnet is not supported. I would just moved this IP to 10Gbps interface and the 1Gbps I would have unconfigured. Not sure why you need 1Gbps and 10Gbps in paraller - 10Gbps is 10x faster ;) use this one and only this...

      Hi quebek,

Thank you for the suggestion. We will move the IP address from 1Gbps to 10Gbps port. But one more question, the 10Gbps port can be teamed together, am I correct?

      Thank you

        Hey

Yes you can bond 10 Gbps cards... so bond two or more, lay down on that bond0 interface a vlan with your IP address. By doing so you can later on put another IP (from other vlan, subnet) on the same bond0 interface ;)

        Good luck
