What its mean? NetBackup software version 8.1 is included with the NetBackup appliance 3.1 release

Hi

i was reading Netbackup Appliance 3.1 intro.

It was written that "NetBackup software version 8.1 is included with the NetBackup appliance 3.1 release"

What does it means.

I mean  as with Netbackup 5240 License , is additional Netbackup 8.1 License also needed or not?

i m confused

  • NBU Appliance is pre-installed with a temporary license key. I don't know if the end date of the temp key is visible.
The Appliance will work as long as the temp key is still valid.

If the temp license expires, NBU will stop working.

    The licensing guide is clear:

    NetBackup Appliance Software Requirements
NetBackup software is not included with a NetBackup appliance and must be licensed separately.
(See the doc for rest of detailed info)

  • Hi,

you have to license your NetBackup environment separatly.  For details please have a look at netbackup licensing guide available in partnerweb.

It simply means you have an appliance with netbackup and appliance software installed on. The netbackup version on appliance 3.1 is 8.1.
