PureDisk 6.5 setup in VCS cluster
In PureDisk 6.5 the max storage space that a content router can address is 8TB, so if you need more backup space you add another content router.
My question:
If PureDisk is set up in a VCS cluster, I understand that you just add another node to act as a content router, but how do you add more storage?
Do you have to create a new shared disk or do you just add space to existing shared storage ? If you have to have a new shared disk, it wouldn’t be able to have a mount point of /storage/data .
You would provision new disk/s to all nodes in the cluster. You would then have to configure a new disk group to use the disk/s. PureDisk is not cluster aware as such, so it will use /Storage mount point on all active nodes. However, VCS is configured so that no two service groups can run on the same node (PD=1), so the mount point conflict should not be a problem.
When you add a new node, a new service group will be created, using the new disks. You have to select the various roles the new virtual node should have (e.g. CR, MBE).
