About NBU How to restore data only via backup data?

 

 

Hello everyone,

Two sites of product and disaster recovery.

In product site,I installed Symantec Netbackup 7.0.1 a master server and media server enterprise on Windows Server 2008 R2， an array lun be mapped for media space,then via asynchronous remote replication between arrays ,the backup data be copied to another array which in disaster recovery site. when all devices in product site crashed include master server,only left is the backed backup data which now stored in array in disaster recovery site.

How to put this backup data recovery out in disaster recovery site?

    asynchronous remote replication between arrays is not know to Netbackup..., its happenning in Storage end... correct?

    if yes.. first

    1) you need to recover the netbackup catalog..

    2) and see if the catalog have the info about the data in the Production arrary( should be if the catalog backup is successfull after the backup)

    3) replicate back the remote array to the production array and use for restore..

     

    if you do not have the catalog information.. you need to make use of Import to create the catalog before going for restore.

    yes, you are right ,it happening in storage end

    catalog info is missing when product site crashed 

    I will try to import to restore
