ACS Tapes "recycle"
Hi All
We are planning to dismiss a 5.0 NetBackup server and re-use its tapes in another Netbackup server 6.5.3 ,
no matter of the backup images on those tapes , we arent' interested in preserve them .
Our idea is to force the expiration of that tapes , and so allow the remaining NetBackup server to access the tapes
via the INVENTORY_FILTER = ACS 0 BY_ACS_POOL 1 <old pool> in local vm.conf files .
We have on ACS robot managing both pools right now, each of the two netbackup domains
see their tapes depending on the pool selected in the vm.conf file.
Any suggestions ?
Thanks
Regards

- Hi.. If you have 2 separate NB environments and if you want to remove one master server with assigned tapes you can simply stop services on 5.0, uninstall etc.. and add old tapes to 6.5.3.
NB 6.5.3 will use tapes from 5.0 (you don't have to expire tapes in Nb 5.0)
