AIR replication – restart of the replication job, deduplication

Hello

I have a job that does not complete successfully in the normal replication time window and is aborted due to the time window. Does the replication job start again from 0 or is the data retained on the target system longer so that data that has already been transferred does not have to be sent again?

thanks

  • yes, only the remaining images will be replicated on next run.Netbackup SLP does take care of this for you.
you may even use commands such as nbstl, nbstlutil, to check the SLP and remaining images in your backlog

  • So if a replication job of 2 TB fail after 1 TB have been send (for example because the backup window closed) . The slp job will start again but will it send again the 2TB or only the remaining 1TB? (Msdp pool on both backup domains)

      Hello

I think the replication is per image basis - if this image was unsuccessful and did send only 1 TB out of 2, next time the window will open it will start from the beginning... that is my expirience.

  • on the next run, when the AIR window opens and the remaining image is above the threshold, it will only replicate the remaining images.(in your case only remaining 1 TB)
