automatically delete files

Hello All,

environment

master-media  server: Redhat 2.6

client windows 2008 R2

Netbackup 7.1

Question:

Assume With standart backup  I'm backing up the folder  C:\data1

Is there any option on netbackup like automatically delete the files under C:\data1 folder after backup finished successfully??

With BR,

  • Change Schedule Type to User Archive

Note this will back up and remove ALL files in the Backup Selections list

  • What you are looking at is archiving - but that is done as a user archive and performed from the client itself

To do it from a normal backup you would need to use a bpend_notify.bat on the client and get that to run the delete once the backup completes .. but you would need to make sure it only did the delete if the status was zero (that status is passed to the notify script) - and also that it only ran for that specific policy .. so something like bpend_notify.deletepolicyname.bat

    Hope this gives some ideas
