Backup failed wiht invalid filelist specification (69) on Windows 2003 Server

Hi All,

Backup failed with Below error . Can you please advise how to resolve this issue

    Please provide all relevant info:

    NBU version on master, media server and client.
    Policy type.
    Backup Selection in policy.

    Please understand that NBU support for W2003 ended when Microsoft ended support for W2003.

    W2003 had issues with VSS snapshots that needed Microsoft hotfixes.
    These hotfixes have been removed from Microsoft Support site when support for W2003 ended.

    The root failure is not status 69 (invalid file list). That's the failure from the 'bpfis delete' process when it can't find the 'state' file that it needs to clean up. There is no state file because there was no snapshot, and nothing to clean up.

    In addition to the information others have requested, you need to find the portion of the bpfis log (pid 5904 in this example) where the original failure occurs. Look for what's happening leading up to this:

    "... FTL - snapshot services: snapshot method analysis failed: no combos generated: stack elements not capable of any split or quiesce."

    This seems to be a failure to take a hardware (disk array) snapshot. I'll take a stab and guess your disk array isn't set up properly for a snapshot.

    I think you may need more help analyzing the bpfis log and your snapshot environment than can be done on a discussion board. I suggest you work with Veritas support to pursue this.
