Best ways to revocer a virtual domain controller

Just a “quick” question. What is the best way to restore virtual domain controllers? Does the technical note for Backup Exec also apply to Netbackup? https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.100005450 Is there anything new? The Technote is from 2014. For DR testing, it's enough for me to simply restore and start the VMs in an isolated environment. But what about in a production environment? Will I have problems if I restore a DC from a backup from yesterday? Will it work? Will there be corruption in AD?

Backup Exec and Netbackup are two completely different products, however this tech note is product neutral so it should apply.
However I would never restore a DC, I would instead deploy a new DC because of the reasons outlined in the tech note.
