BMR Dissimilar Hardware Restore Problem

Hiya,

 

Does anyone have a step by step guide to getting dissimilar hardware restore to work perfectly with BMR? Lets assume i have a completely brand new server with no OS on (though i have a server with an OS if this is needed, but not ideal) and i have done a successful BMR backup of a server i wish to transfer onto this new hardware. This will be a standard windows 2003 x86 restore.

 

I have tried this both through a boot cd and through the console and i cannot get this to work. When done through the boot cd i get as far as creating the configuration through the automatic discovery but on the step it tries to import the file it says it cannot create the configuration and then stops. Through the GUI on the master server when i try to do this it just queues and does nothing.

 

This is probably a simple thing i am doing wrong and will kick myself for it, but i just can't figure it out. The manual doesn't seem to say too much on it except discover it and then do it.
