BMR Restore Client

Hello All,

I can not see "client configuration" (BMR client information) settings under bare metal restore client option. I had created a policy and enabled BMR, full backup got completed still there is no information added in  bare metal restore client . I also register bmrbootserver. I dont know what went wrong. Doing it first time.

 

My Setup is as below.

Master Server:- Netbackup 7.0

Master server Os:- Win2003

Client Server:- Netbackup 7.0

Client OS:- Win 2003

    I have reinstalled Master server and the client that was creating problem and now configuring the same.

    So waiting for BMR backup to complete.

    Did you enable BMR master server as well on your NB master server?

    You can check this by verifying if "bmrd.exe" process is running on your master server. Also you can confirm if below CLI works well on your NB master server.

    CD into netbackup/bin dir and fire below command

    bmrs -o query -r database -table currentversion

     

    If you do not see bmrd running then run "bmrsetupmaster" CLI available in netbackup/bin dir.

    Pls find the below
     
    C:\Program Files\Veritas\NetBackup\bin>bmrs -o list -r config
    [Info] V-123-44 There are no entries in the database for the selected resource.
     
    Need to tell i had already reinstalled Master Server Software but to no avail.

    This means there should be some failures while importing BMR client configuration during backup.

    Can you enable debug level 6 logs on your master server and try a bmr backup? Please collect bmrd.log file generated on your master and attach here. This would reveal the problem.

    On your master server open, netbackup\nblog.conf file and set default.DebugLevel=6.

    Then restart NB services on master and take BMR backup of your client.

    The command is:

    vxlogcfg -a --prodid 51216 --orgid 119 -s DebugLevel=6 -s DiagnosticLevel=6

    The above will enable debug and diagnostic level 6 for OID 119: BMR Master Server Daemon (bmrd)  .

    Not sure which processes Mandar is looking for. 

    Herewith a list of BMR OID's:

    121. BMR Save Configuration  (bmrsavecfg)
    122. BMR Client Utility (bmrc)
    123. BMR Server Utility (bmrs)
    127. BMR Setup Commands (bmrsetup)

    There are more - maybe Mandar can tell you which ones he is looking for.
    Repeat above vxlogcfg command for all required BMR processes (--orgid).

    Command to collect logs: 

     

    vxlogview -i 119 > <Path>\bmrd.log

    PS: Please show us all text in Details tab of BMR backup job?

     Found these phrases in your attachment:

     

    BMR Master Server can not function. Please check if BMR Master Server Database has been setup and whether the Database Service is running.

     

    Failure in initializing the boot server. Check if the boot server is registered with the BMR Master Server.
