Can the drive where the disk backups sit be encrypted by bitlocker?

Hi All,

Can the drive where the disk backups sit be encrypted by bitlocker? Would this affect the backups or duplications in anyway?

    Hi arun0700 

    No reason why not - this would all be transparent to NetBackup. 

    Performance may be reduced due to the encryption requirements (refer to Microsoft documentation for details - they quote single digit performance hit).

    It would have no affect on the deduplication rates (again, Bitlocker is transparent to NetBackup).
