Change the Installation Log location

I need to know that , can we change the log file location (instllation log file) from /tmp to another location.

Will this change temporary(till NBU installation gets complete) or it will remain permanent ?
It is like any other OS variable - it is just applicable to that particular instance of the shell.
The moment you log off the variable will no longer exist.
Variables are only permanent when you add them to user login files (e.g. .profile for root) or system-wide startup scripts.
