Configuring NetBackup NDMP option
I am in the process of configuring the NDMP option for NetBackup to backup Shares on a NetApp storage. However the tape library is connected to the NetBackup Media server. I already installed the NDMP license. I am yet to add the NDMP Host. What I would like to know is would I be able to backup data from the NetApp to the Tape Library that is connected to the NetBackup Media Server?
Yes - that is no problem - it is what is known as 3 way or remote NDMP
The data gets called from the filer and passes over the network to the media server which writes the data to tape
