coomands to find a policies using media server

We have 7 media servers, we want to use Netbackup command to find which policy is using which media server?

  • If you look in the Windows admin console under Polcies - Summary of all Policies, the top section shows all policy attribites

If you sort that by "Storage" you can see which media server (by its storage unit) does which policy

Unfortunately it will not let you copy and paste it anywhere!

Alternatively when creating a policy add a keyword on its attributes tab of the server name doing the backup - the bppllist command with the -keyword swicth would then just list those policies - a little manual though and prone to error!

  • First, run "bppllist -allpolicies -U" and check Storage of each policies and schedules.
Next, run "bpstulist -U" and check which media server each storage units is configured with.

If you specified Storage Lifecycle Policy(SLP) as Storage, run "nbstl -L" to check SLP configuration.
