Datadomain with Netbackup 7.5. Not able to configure storage

Hi I am trying configure Netbackup 7.5 with Data domain 640. 

Its purely on workgroup. the local system account user as been created in the data domain.

From the backup server, iam able to access the cifs shares and create folder on the data domain.

when i create storage unit as basic disk, and provide the UNC Path. Its creates, but fails with below error.

Iam able to run windows nt backup on this shares.

Operating system is windows 2003.

    NetBackup OST documentation is very generic:

    Best to download DataDomain config docs from https://my.datadomain.com/

    There may be newer docs, but the one that has worked well for me is Data_Domain_Boost_Admin_Guide_759-0010-0003.pdf  
    This doc contains DD as well as NBU instructions.

    Configuring credentials for CIFS and disk storage units

    For Common Internet File System (CIFS) storage and AdvancedDisk and BasicDisk storage units, two NetBackup services on Windows computers require matching credentials. The following NetBackup services on Windows media servers to which the CIFS storage is attached must use the same credentials:

    • NetBackup Client Service

      The NetBackup Client Service is either bpcd.exe or bpinetd.exe, depending on NetBackup release level. Regardless of the binary file name, the service requires the credentials.

      CIFS storage is supported for AdvancedDisk on NetBackup 7.0.1 and later.

    • NetBackup Remote Manager and Monitor Service

      The NetBackup Remote Manager and Monitor Service binary file name is nbrmms.exe.

    The credentials must be valid Windows credentials that allow read and write access to the storage. Configure the credentials on the media server to which the CIFS storage is attached.

    If credentials are not configured, NetBackup marks all CIFS AdvancedDisk and BasicDisk storage units that use the UNC naming convention as DOWN.

    Hi Nagalla, Thanks 

    I have gone through the procedures already, as described by you, but still there is same issue.

    As i said, i am able to do the backup from NT Backup. 

    I tried changing logon accounts which has read and write access to cifs shares.

    But still it give me error as volume down.

    are you able to bring up the properties of the disk path  form the storage unit settings? and showing used space and avalible space  % used and all?

    what is the that error.. post the screenhost of it

    are you  using the local admin accounts are domain accounts?

    Hi Nagalla,

    I have already done the change but i tried again and restarted both the storage and server and tried its working fine. 

    Netbackup remote manager and monitor service i changed the logon account
    Netbackup Client Service

    But my requirement to Disk to Disk to Tape. But since i configured as an basic disk, i could not configure SLP. 

    What is the best way acheive this with data domain. 

    I have enterprise disk license with netbackup. what license i need from data domain or Symantec.

    You need DataDomain DDboost and NBU OST plugin.

    That will enable you to config DD as Advanced Disk instead of Basic Disk and the ability to config SLP.

    So according to you I should have DDboost License also enabled.

    and NBU OST Plugin is also licensed or its kind of software. 

    Kindly share the tech note for configuring Data domain DDboost as Advanced disk.

    OST plugin you need to download from Datadomin website..

    as you have enterprise disk license you does not require additional license from Netbackup/

    Should I need any additional license from Data Domain. Kindly share me some tech note how to configure the Data domain as Advance disk or Open storage.
