Deleting drives from media servers that have already been retired

We migrated off some old media servers awhile ago, but the drive configuration was not removed before the media servers were retired.  What is the correct method of removing drives for which the "owning" media server is no longer around?

Thanks!

  • "drive configuration was not removed before the media servers were retired"

this Indicates, even Media server entries also not removed from the netbackup and EMM data base.

please follow the Normal decomminsion Process to remove all entires.

Offline Media server is not good for master server.. so remove them all.

    follow the below commands

    1) bpmedia -movedb -allvolumes -oldserver <old_server> -newserver<new_server>

    2) nbemmcmd -deletealldevices -machinename -machinetype media

    3) nbemmcmd -deletehost -machinename -machinetype media

    4) remove from bp.conf of master

you can also use nbdcommission command to do the same
