Different versions being displayed in GUI and Server

I installed a SAN and a LAN agent of version 7.5.0.6 on AIX and Windows server respectively. The Netbackup version on my GUI console is showing correctly 7.5.0.6 but on the Solaris server , when I use the command bpgetconfig -g <hostname>, it shows 7.5.04.

The solaris server is of version 7.5.0.6.

Please tell the problem and how to resolve it.

  • when you say  GUI.. is that from GUI--> Host properties..--> clients    ?

    check the version file in the client.what it is showing.

    login to the client..

    cat /usr/opevn/netbackup/bin/version    ---> unix

    install Drive/netbckup/bin/version ---> windows

  • Show us these files on the Solaris server:

    cat /usr/openv/netbackup/version

    cat /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/version

  • Output of  cat /usr/openv/netbackup/version:

    HARDWARE SOLARIS
    VERSION NetBackup 7.5.0.6
    RELEASEDATE Mon Jun 10 21:48:03 CDT 2013
    BUILDNUMBER 20130610

    Output of  cat /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/version

    NetBackup-Solaris10 7.5.0.6

  • just to make sure... are you seeing the version  difference for Master server or for clients?

  • I have always wondered where bpgetconfig gets its info from.

    This the version file on my Windows 7 laptop (NBU version 7.5.0.6):

    HARDWARE Windows x64
    VERSION NetBackup 7.5.0.6
    RELEASEDATE Mon Jun 10 21:45:17 2013
    BUILDNUMBER 20130610

    This is what 'bpgetconfig -g' reports:

    PC-x64, WindowsXP
    7.5.0.0.0.4
    NetBackup
    7.5
    750000
    C:\Program Files\Veritas\NetBackup\bin
    WindowsVista 6

    (I have not checked registry entries... probably in there somewhere...)

    No idea where Solaris gets its incorrect info from!
