EMM backup jobs Reporting (Scheduled start along with actual start time)

Hello Everyone,

Firstly, Thank you all you guys in advance for your thoughts and idea on my query (irrespective of the solution). :) :)

Context - We generate reports for backup Jobs from Symantec Netbackup Ops Centre on a regular basis. now in the "start time" we have the time at which backup was fired and "end time" reports when the backup was completed.

Requirement - we need to generate a report which will was list "scheduled start time" along with the real start and end details.

Hope i was able to to explain.

Regards

Ravindra.

  • Dear Ravindra,

You seem to generate the report with (Policy schedule time, Start time and End time).

May be you are searching to calculate the actual backup time.

    May I understanding is correct?

    If Yes,

    Please understand the below first.

Policy schedule time is not captured in report.

Job start time is your policy schedule time:  Because backup Jobs are running as per scheduled.

Job End time is your backup completed time : Backup successfully completed OR Backup Failed.

Attempt start time is actual backup, once backup job actually start writing.

You will calculate the backup job base on ‘Attempt start time’ to ‘Job End time’.

Find the attached sample backup report FYI.

  • You seem to be looking for a combined report from 2 different dbs:
Jobs database for Start and End time
Policy database for Scheduled start time.

I am not sure if this is possible...
Hopefully OpsCenter expert Riaan will be along soon.

Thanks Marianne for your time and the inputs.

have attached a snapshot which shold explain. Will wait for Riaan to suggest/comment.

      Thanks.
