enabling bptm.log for NBU 6.5.4 for Windows

Hey all;

I am a new user to NBU and I am under the gun to do some QA testing.

I need to change the buffer size of the media servers. I found an article telling me how to do it.

It states that you need to verify the change with the bptm.log

I did a default install of 6.5.4 on a W2K8 host. There is no \veritas\netbackup\logs\bptm.log file

I am assuming I must enable logging on the media server.

I have searched but am unable to determine how this is done.

Any help is greatly appreciated

thanks

  • Just create a folder called bptm under \veritas\netbackup\logs\ (sounds too easy but it works).

    you might want to check the logging level on your master server as well. This is found under host properties and then master server.

  • Just for info - logging is covered in the Troubleshooting Guide: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH52829

    See chapter 3 - Using logs and reports.
