Error 50 Client Process Aborted for HP-UX client

Hi All,

We have been facing Client process aborted error for one of our HP-UX client. Please help me to fix this.

Master & Media servers :-  SuSe Linux

Client :- HP-UX B 11.23.

Thanks,

Nayab

  • ok no errors logged in bpcd, but bpbrm is littered with errors:

    <16> common_signal: Invalid parameters.

There are also issues connecting to two clients and 1 clients that the hostname could not be found (DNS lookup issues).

Here is the issue with your client:

    bpbrm send_parent_msg: could not write WROTE bssweccp1_1377560292 40192 0 8924.383 0 message to stderr

Seems network may have broke mid-way through?

    Client reports

08:19:06.048 [16714] <16> bpbkar sighandler: ERR - bpbkar killed by SIGPIPE
08:19:06.048 [16714] <2> bpbkar sighandler: INF - ignoring additional SIGPIPE signals
08:19:06.054 [16714] <16> bpbkar Exit: ERR - bpbkar FATAL exit status = 40: network connection broken
08:19:06.054 [16714] <4> bpbkar Exit: INF - EXIT STATUS 40: network connection broken
08:19:06.055 [16714] <2> bpbkar Exit: INF - Close of stdout complete
    08:19:06.055 [16714] <4> bpbkar Exit: INF - setenv FINISHED=0
  • Nayab,

What version of NetBackup is the client and media server?

Do you have the bpbkar, bpcd logs for the client and the bptm and bpbrm logs for the media server?

Does it always fail with a status 50? Has it wrote any files or does it fail straight away?

  • Version of Netbackup Master ,Media, Client :- 6.5.4

Yes iits failing with status 50 , no it is not failing immediately after writing some files it failed

wonder now only i have noticed i am not able to access my Media server via SSH or TELNET but the server is reachable and its pinging.

  • Ashish,

I am getting a connection refused error while i tried telnet.

    Thanks

    Nayab

  • i have the same error on another client let me verify if the respective media server of that client is reachable so that i will post the above outputs

  • This seems to be a network issue but to diagonise and troubleshoot further i would request you to consult the NBU support team.

  • bpbkar and bpbrm logs do not match - probably taken from different days?

    bpbkar shows policy called bssweccp1_OS_daily,

bpbrm shows policy for this client as application backup called bssweccp1_sap_P3A_daily:

    We need matching logs, please.

Please also confirm that Oracle and SAP data is excluded from filesystem backups.

  • Hi All,

Thanks a lot for your replies the issue is because of CPU high usage and few filesystems reached the threshold limits later the issue was fixed by increasing the filesystems and killing the unwanted process.

    Thanks,

    Nayab
