Hello

I want to know If I can to excluse expecific file types on a single Windows Policy.
I want to exclude only the PST Files from my backup. How Can I Do This?

Thanks

  • Yes, you do it on a per client basis, not a per policy basis

see these technotes on exclude lists

  • Hello

That's the issue, I dont want to use Client Exclude List, I want to exclude directly from the Backup Policy

I have 2 policies created on this client. 1. Entire Data (Exclude PST files) and 2. Backup PST files Only

If I include the *pst file on the client Exclude List, The 2nd policy does not work.

  • I want to know If exist any kind of Flag like !!*.pst or /*.pst something like that.

  • As per TN in revaroo's post, you can add
    *.pst
    in Host Properties -> Clients -> <Client name> -> Windows Client -> Exclude Lists

    Your choices are:

    All Policies
    Specific Policy
    Policy + Schedule combination

Please see this topic in NBU Admin Guide I:

About the Add to exclude list ...  dialog boxes

Please read through Description for Policy field.

  • You can't do it directly from the policy. You have to do it per client.

You can exclude files per policy per client or exclude on all policies per client or even per policy per schedule per client, but it HAS to be done at client level.
