"failed to mount srt wim file" BMR SRT creation failure

Dear Experts,

I am getting following error when I try to install SRT on Windows 2008 R2 Sp1 server. I have almost all technotes available publically from Symantec wiz, Run as Admin, no spacesin the wim file .. The account I am logged in as is a member of local admin group. also a domain admin. I have tried to rename the win file copied under the bmr directory it created another file already. Nothing seems to be working. Though I see an event ID  though it does not come when I run the setup. The have run the bmrbootseup -register to register the boot server. NBU version is 7.1.0.2. The BMR database is hosted on clustered master server. I am tring to create the SRT on a different server.

  • Hi Mark,

I have already tried the steps. I resolved the issue by manually installing wimfltr.ini file.

  • Dear Mark,

I am trying to install SRT on the Boot server only. Only thing is I have the BMR database on the master server.

  • If the BMR Master Server Setup has been run and you have run bmrbootsetup -register on the Boot server then you should be OK to create a SRT on that boot server as long as it is the same type of Operating System (i.e. you need a Windows Boot server to create a Windows SRT.

Run the Wizard (using "Run as administrator" if Windows 2008) on the Boot Server itself.

Also make sure you are logged in with Local Admin rights to the boot server.

Is it the Fast Boot SSRT you are creating? Where did you select the wim file from?
