File Restoration

Hello Experts,

Need to know if netbackup created a directory itself on restoration or not if we wont give the directory name.

suppose we have to restore /usr/openv/recover.txt and we give the restoration directory destination /usr/openv/test/recover.txt

Will it create /test directory same as windows server at the time of restoration?

Thanks,

  • Yes - Netbackup will create the directories if specified during restore operation.

I suggest you try it out - my answers is based on normal netbackup working behavior  - however there may be differences in yore environment (e.g. access control list).

  • I fully agree with Nicolai. Something like this is extremely easy to test.
