Fileserver taking too long to backup

Hi,

We have a 2TB File Server running on Windows 2008 R2. We're using Netbackup 7.6. Our problem is it's taking too long to back the data up. It doesn't matter if it's Incremental or Full, it takes at least 47 hours to backup. We don't backup the system state nor C: just the two data drives. And we are using Backup Accelerator.

Is there anyway to find out why it's taking too long?

OS: Windows 2008 Std R2

Platform: VM

Size of data: approximate 2TB

Netbackup: Version 7.6 with Accelerator

Another issue is the incremental backup size is the same as the Full Backup, meaning, when the INCR runs, it assumes that the previous FULL backup failed (although it didn't fail and no one cancelled it) that's why it would take a full backup instead of just incremental.

Any assistance is appreciated.

Thanks.

  • Both  FULL_01 and FULL_02 has:

There is no complete backup image match with track journal, a regular full backup will be performed.

How does the next backup look like ?

The first backup with accelerator is alwas a classic full.

The next backup should provide you with a accelerator optimized backup.
